Most Roo pads come in an unusual color (white or black) and when one pad needs to be replaced, you have to go back to the tech who has that color to match the other pads. That is, a 1/8" or 5mm or whatever movement of the mpc, whether in (sharper) or out (flatter) will affect the high tones far more than the bottom end of the horn. Middle D is a problem for a lot of saxophones. It can be very sharp (10 to 20 cents) and can be "stuffy." To flatten it out you can hold the left hand pinky B or Bb key. High overtones are more like whistling through the sax than anything else. The reason is simple. When you play the horn it resonates in your head, therefore you'll have to turn up a bit to hear the mix above the natural resonation. These things aren't cheap.

For a tenor, that would mean close to $12k. I think Selmer would want to avoid such a costly constriction of choice. It is a model ASOL200, Intermediate level saxophone. List price new at $3,079, but usually selling new between $2,200 and $3,000 around several dealers across the nation. I just got my Legere 2.75 alto sax reed in today, my first synthetic reed. It really surprised me. It is very free blowing, but mabye because its a little soft to my liking. The sound got a little spread after a few minutes, but it was a focused sound.
