Nose piercings can get infected easier than lobes, often the pus builds up in the hole. A fresh piercing isn't infected. And they recommend neosporin for puncture wounds, because most puncture wounds are caused by something covered in bacteria, a nail, thumbtack etc, where infection poses a threat. Not done by a professional piercer with sterilized equipment and jewelry. You're only adding irritation by putting it on a fresh piercing.

My mom mentioned that it would be safer and would be less likely to cause an infection. I want to mention that I have pretty sensitive skin so the piercing was extremely painful.Overall, rooks tend to me finicky but (in my opinion) they are one of the coolest piercings and you shouldn't let any possible pain/a less than favorable potential healing process deter you cause as soon as that bad boy is healing you'll be glad you got it! :) 1.
